Sigh. Sad to say i didn't enjoy this as much as I did "But I Love Him".
I guess it was because i didn't feel connected with Sam at all for some reason.
I didn't feel what she was going through. I couldn't feel her struggles. I didnt feel bad about what was happening to her.
There was something missing I guess.
The moral lesson was good however.

ABSOLUTELY EXCITED!!



After reading Opal and that damn heartbreaking cliffhanger.. I just really wanted to get my hands on Origin. But then again, we all have to wait patiently even though we all don't want to.

THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS

I'll go and change my review format on this review as I believe I already described Daemon, Katy and the others on my previous reviews. I'll just end up having a lengthy Daemon character review if that happens. LOL.

Anyhow, I just thought that everything on this book was unexpected. I mean there were some that I predicted that was going to happen like the fact that Daemon would surrender himself to Daedalus to get to Katy and all that sh*t. But the rest, it was all downright surprising.

There was a mixture of everything here. Deception. Love. Secrets. Friendship. History *of aliens, hybrids and the origins*. I mean seriously? What more can you ask for? This was the best of the series I've read so far and I hope the last book will beat this one as I'll be really disappointed if it turns out really lame compared to the other books.

STUFF THAT SURPRISED ME

MAJOR SPOILERS HERE.





1. I hated Blake. NO FREAKIN' doubt about that but I didn't expect him dead.

What's even better? Katy killed him! *YOU GO GIRL!* He had it coming.

2. I didn't expect that the origins were offsprings of hybrids and Luxens. What's even better? Archer is an origin too and so is Luc. Remember Luc? The one who seems to know a lot of things about anything? Well he's an origin too. Freaky thing is, the Daedalus are keeping a bunch of them in their facility. They do know that these kids are unstable right? What they should be doing is play and have fun while they're young but they aren't given any choice but to be lab rats for their silly experiments that I think sooner or later will blow in their faces.

3. Well first.. Daemon finally said the L word!! :D I could feel tingles all over my body when he said it. Haha. Gosh I wish I was Katy at that moment. LOL. Anyhow, that is so not the best part. The best part? They got married in Vegas baby!! Not exactly how I wanted it but hell the proposal was just so cute. It made me smile like a crazy person. Haha.

4. While Daedalus was plotting on getting Katy pregnant by Daemon, someone else was already pregnant. LOL. Stupid Daedalus really!! It was revealed on the later part of the book that Beth was pregnant! Surprisingly, Daemon was okay with it. Haha. The funny part is.. He is kinda thinking about it now too. Haha. That was just so cute.

5. Jennifer A. Why do you like making your readers suffer with your painful cliffhangers! Seriously? Alien invasion? :D



Honestly, I'm bad with series. I always tend to start one but never finish. Aside from the Twilight series and Harry Potter.. I don't think I ever finished another. LOL. But Lux series right here.. I am always in pace. I don't let a release go by without me reading it right after. Why? Because this is tad addicting. The writing. The plot. The pace. It is all just really really good! It was all too believable.

I AM UPSET THOUGH BECAUSE OF ONE THING

WHY CAN'T THE RELEASE DATE FOR THE SECOND BOOK COME SOONER???





I know that no matter how much I beg.. The release date won't change so I guess I'd have to just wait patiently.

I gave up on it after reading 50% of the book. I thought there will be some sort of redeeming factor on it somehow but after 20%, 30% and then 50%...

REACTION AFTER READING THE BOOK

I didn't really know what I felt after reading this book.
Sorrow. Pain. Hurt. Disappointment.Anger.Loneliness.
This book gave me a lot more to think about.



Forgive me, Leonard Peacock is one of those books that I think is a must read for everyone.
Don't be mislead by the title.
This book is not in any way comical.
It is not in any way plain humorous.
It is just not.
There were some witty lines that at regular instances would make me smile or laugh at times but it didn't do that to me on this one.
The story was just tad to serious.
This book was sad. But in a way, it was very beautiful.

Here's the short GIST

Leonard Peacock has a plan.
Today was his birthday but instead of receiving gifts, he was planning to give 4 people a gift instead.
These four people were the ones who touched his life the most.
These four people were the only ones he thought bothered with him.
But that wasn't the only thing he had planned for his birthday.
As a grand finale, he was going to kill himself.
But before that, he was going to kill his former best friend with his grandfather's P-38 pistol.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The title got me fooled. I thought at first it was going to be an easy read.
Before I got the book, I checked the synopsis here at Goodreads first.
It sounded serious but still, I wasn't expecting the contents to be what it was.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

Leonard

I feel for Leonard. I have to admit though that he wasn't a very easy character to love. He was bitter. He was sarcastic. At times he thinks he is better than everyone else. Who would love a character like that? He was more of an antihero in every aspect. Although this book reminded me of Perks of Being a Wallflower, Leonard was in no way like Charlie. Leonard thinks very much different from people his age and I think that's what sets him apart. His views on life after teenage years and what adulthood is very mature. Aside from all this, Leonard suffered from some traumatic stuff in his past that he cannot tell anyone. Just like Charlie (from Perks of Being a Wallflower). The only difference is Leonard was aware of it happening. He was aware but too scared to do anything as he wanted to belong. He didn't want to be alone. I guess that's really where everything started. But that's not the only thing I guess. Partly, I think his mom would have the biggest fault in all this. I'm sorry. I just had to say it. If she wasn't so conveniently inattentive I don't think Leonard would be in the situation that he was then.

Herr Silverman

He would have to be my favorite character in this book. He was Leonard's Hollocaust teacher. He knew from the moment Leonard gave him his gift that something was wrong. How did he know? Because he was paying attention to him. Unlike his mom. Unlike his other teachers. Unlike his classmates. He knew something was up. I think he already knew when he bumped that question in class. I wasn't expecting the secret he was keeping. I was thinking of something else entirely. I was thinking that he was previously suicidal or something but he wasn't. It was very different from that. Everyone needs a Herr Silveman in life. Someone who would be there to listen and observe and help.

Asher

I seriously want to blow this mthrf*cking guys head off! It's not until towards the end of this book that you find out why Leonard hates him so much. If you find out, I'm sure you'd want to beat the daylights out of this kid too! He used to be a really good kid. But I gues some people do change. Why? Also because of the people who surrounds them.

Linda

I really hate her. Every time she opens her mouth all I could feel was anger and hatred towards this woman. Who is she? He's Leonards good-for-nothing Mom. Leonard's still a kid. Although he could think way beyond his years, he still needs someone who will give him caring and affection. But where is this woman? Oh somewhere. Having fun with her French boyfriend. But does she ever checks on poor Leonard. Nah. Not at all.

HIGHLIGHTS

- i liked how on the first chapter you'll already know what the character is going to do. and then you gradually find out what happened before and you'll also know what's currently happening. the story telling was fluid and easy to read despite the sensitive topic.

- Herr Silverman was a highlight for me.

- the chronological arrangement of the story was good.

- Leonard's letter to the future was good. I'd probably do it at some point.

- the truth in Quick's writing is something that I really couldn't get enough of.

FINAL WORDS



This wouldn't really solve anything.
Killing yourself is just like accepting defeat.

First they ignore you, then
they laugh at you, they they
fight you, then you win.

Everyone experience problems. Leonard isn't the only one with problems. I'm not saying that his problem is worse than others because I think there are other people with much more issues to handle.
But some are able to cope with it.
No matter how hard the situation is. No matter how hopeless they seem to be.
Why?
I think its because of the support they get from the people around them.
If there were more people around Leonard who would care for him, do you think he'll still feel the same way?
Do you think he will still consider suicide?
No he wouldn't.
Why?
Because he feels that he has someone. He has someone to lean on when times get hard. He has someone to talk to when his mom disregards him or when Asher was doing the things he was doing to Leonard.

I think people still fail to understand how our action can greatly affect other people.
I think its important that we know the value of what we do or what we say.
Of course we may not always do and say the right things but at least we should be cautious.
We wouldn't know if we are saying the wrong words to a suicidal person.
One wrong word or action may cause that person to end it all.

In my review of Perks of Being a Wallflower, I mentioned that things could change based on the decisions and choices that we could make.
Things will remain the same if you don't do anything about it
I think that somehow Leonard was also to blame for what was happening to him.



He doesn't believe that his future would be better so that's what caused him to want to end it all.
His choice was to keep silent and that choice led him what was happening to him in the present.
If he had done differently, I think things would have been different too.
Every action has its own consequences and I think this book also highlighted that.
We can't always blame other people, at some point we ourselves are also to blame.

I would just like to end my review with a quote as I feel that this is one truth I have learned when I was reading this. Herr Silverman was the one who said it in this book:

“There's a lot for you to live for. Good things are definitely in your future, Leonard. I'm sure of it. You have no idea how many interesting people you'll meet after high school's over. Your life partner, your best friend, the most wonderful person you'll ever know is sitting in some high school right now waiting to graduate and walk into your life - maybe even feeling all the same things you are, maybe even wondering about you, hoping that you're strong enough to make it to the future where you'll meet.”

REACTION AFTER READING THE BOOK

I was so NOT disappointed with this book!
It made me so freakin happy.



I think the title sort of describes this book very well.
It was perfection. Not twisted. But just perfection.
Also it left me completely satisfied and happy.
Why?
Because there was no cursed cliffhanger (at least on the relationship part) that a lot of authors nowadays seem very fond of.
And mind you too much cliffhangers could be quite annoying.
Sometimes it causes the readers to not wanna read the third one if it goes on and on.
Anyhow, like I said, this book satisfied me.

THE GIST

Della has a past that made me scared to live life as she should.
She kept a secret that she knew would shatter anyone who would get too close.
But her good friend decides she needs to stop thinking about bad things and start to live.
She lent Della her car so that she could go and have a shot at life.

Woods has it all.
He belonged to a wealthy family. He had the money. He had the looks to take any girl he wants. He was intelligent.
It may seem that he has everything but there was one thing he doesn't have; the freedom to choose what he wants to do with his life.

Unexpectedly, Della and Woods met.
They chatted a bit. They flirted a bit. And they both enjoyed an unbelievably amazing one night stand.
Woods left.
Della left.
They thought that was the end of the story.
But no...
After a few months, fate decides to intervene, they met again.
Will they be able to recognize each other?
Will there be a chance for them to be together?
Or will they just choose to forget what happened that night?

LETS MEET THE CHARACTERS

Della



I loved her. I seriously adored Della. She had a tough past but she tried to cope. She tried to forget all about it and move on. She tried so hard to keep everything to herself but we all know at some point someone is bound to know. Someone is bound to find out. I feel sorry for her after knowing what really happened. I want to hug her and tell her that everything is going to be okay that she will not end up the same way because she definitely won't. She just needs to remember that. The only thing that annoyed me was that she kept on thinking no one will be able to love her. WRONG! That is so wrong. What is it with girls and thinking no one will love them because of their past? It is just not true. Prince Charming is still out there and in Della's case.. It was Woods.

Woods



Oh sweet heavens! You just made me forget all about Rush. :) And mind you I'm not complaining. I already knew that Woods was a sweetheart when I read Fallen too Far. I knew there was something in him and I was so freakin' right. He was more than the amount of money he has. He was more than the goodlooks and the incredible body that he has. He was sweet, loving and a very passionate guy. I just couldn't find the words to explain how much I loved Woods. And honestly, I never once thought about Rush. Woods has always been dictated what to do and what to want but when what he really wants for himself came along he wasn't going to let that go. He was smart enough to go after what he needs and wants.

Tripp



Tripp is such a sweetheart. Okay so I thought at first he was going to be a problem but hey he is such a decent guy that even if he did come between Woods and Della, I wouldn't really mind. Tripp is a great friend and thought that he should deserve his own story too.

Braden and Kent

I seriously love them. Braden is such a good friend to Della and she should be forever grateful. Kent was just showed a couple of times but I still appreciate the support that he gave to his wife and Della.

WOODS + DELLA= THE HEAT IS ON



These two can't seem to get enough of each other. They want to touch each other as much as they could!
Alright I often don't like books with too much sex in it but this book is apparently another exception.

Woods was exactly what Della needed. He became her shield or her wall where she can rest her weary head at night to so that she wouldn't have those bad dreams.



And Woods doesn't disappoint Della, he actually made himself into someone who Della could always go to and trust. Its like he became an entirely different person. He is willing to give up everything that he owns, that he grow up with to be with Della. What more can you ask for?

These two has such good chemistry that I didn't feel with Blaire and Rush. Of course I loved them too but with Woods and Della it was different. It was just so much more. But again, too much sex. But I'm not complaining.

FINAL WORDS

I loved it.
I adored it.
I wanna reread it again and then read the next one.
I really wish the second book will be as good as the first one as I don't want Woods and Della's story to be upsetting.
I want them to have their happy ending as they deserve to be happy.
Woods deserve to make a choice for himself and Della deserves to see that life is not all black and whites, there are also in betweens.
I loved loved loved it.
It won't make your heart hurt because of a stupid cliffhanger so I guess that's a good example isn't it?
Final note on this one, yeah it was a bit predictable sometimes but what really annoys me as hell was the father. He is really a super EVIL! Tsk tsk. And I think he got what he deserves in the end. Bwahahaha.

Soo.. I really loved this book. I am really wait for the next one because I think there is soemthing more out there that needed to be addressed and figured out. Although its not a major cliffhanger but still, it will start the next book.

I'll be sharing one of my favorite lines from this book:

"I was his future. He was mine. If I had a life with Woods to look forward to I knew I could fight whatever darkness that tried to take me. Before Woods I didn't know what I was living for. In my search to find myself, I'd found so much more. I knew now why I wanted to live. I understood love. I had found it."

And I just broke my rule of no holding stares with the one I'm having sex with because for me staring while having sex was way too intimate and reserve only for real lovers. It is like connecting not only your body but also your soul. But Damon is an exception. He is always the exception to every rule I had. With him I tended to break all boundaries and let him in.

MY REACTION AFTER READING THE BOOK

I seriously want to cry with happiness!



I want to give this book a big round of applause as it really deserve it. Honestly, I didn't really expect to like it so much.



It has the right mix of everything.
I loved the pace. I'm usually the one who hates slow paced stories but I will have to say that with this one it fits perfectly.
The story was simple but it will pull your heartstrings.
It won't make you cry buckets of tears but after reading this book it will make you feel hopeful.
Hopeful that someday, no matter how wrong things are at the present, will always end up on a happy note.

Here is the GIST

She was a waitress in the morning and at night she gets paid to pleasure men.

FIRST IMPRESSION

I have to be really honest.
I didn't really expect that I would fall in love with this book.
Usually, I judge books by its covers.
I know. I know. You're not supposed to do that but I do. It's a bad habit of mine and I am planning to change that stupid habit.
And when I was asked to review this book, I immediately said yes.
Well not because I didn't like the cover but because I found the blurb here in goodreads good and its something I knew I'd read and really want to give it a try even if I wasn't really a fan of the cover.
But mind you, the content was so much more.
For those of you who does the bad thing about judging the book by its cover, stop!
You'll miss out amazing books like this one.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

Amanda



She's tall, blonde, pretty and very good in baking. I liked Amanda really. She takes good care of her twin. Although in my opinion it should be the other way around. He should be the one doing all the work and not her but it did get explained in the book why she did it instead of her brother. It's not hard to love Amanda. She was strong and helpful and kind. I felt sad that she had to do what she does though. She didn't deserve that and I think that's one of the reasons I think she's special. I didn't like her though when she kept on denying to herself that she still could be loved. She kept on telling herself that no one will ever love her because of the job that she's doing but she's wrong. She's so wrong. Everyone deserves a chance to be loved.

Damon



*PS: I still think Ian Sommerhalder would be perfect for Damon. Again. :p*

Damon. Well. What is there to say about this guy? He's perfection. He was understanding. He is everything a girl could ever ask for. He was sweet. He was thoughtful. Well at first I thought he was going to be hard but then he totally won me over the more I got to see him. Damon. Damon. Damon. Where art my Damon? I want my Damon too!! Geezz.. Like I said, what is it with guys with the name of Damon??? Why do they all have to be so hot?! I want mine!! Kidding aside, I loved Damon. Like Amanda, he wasn't hard to love. His character was also flawed. He gets jealous. He was stubborn but damn he is just a total sweetheart.

Trey Lockhart



Turn this guy blonde and he is your Trey Lockhart! :)
Who's Trey? No he's not the brother. Amanda's brother's name is Aiden.
So are you guys curious who this handsome devil is?
Well he's just a son of a senator.
Oh and before I forget he's also a movie star!!
Amanda is just one lucky girl isn't she? :p
I won't tell you what Trey's role is going to be because it will be too much of a spoiler but like the two, he is just too easy to love.
I loved Trey and I hope the next book would be about him.

AMANDA + DAMON = A FAIRYTALE COME TRUE



Seriously. What happened to Amanda is a dream come true for every girl.
Every girl deserves to be happy.
It doesn't matter if you're a hooker or you're an innocent virgin.
Every girl deserves to be showered with love and treated with respect.
And Damon right here is the perfect example of how a man should treat a woman, never judging the girl based on the mistakes she did before.
Likewise, it is the same for the girls.
You can't just someone based on their past.
That's why its called past because it was all behind them and you.
All I could say is that Amanda and Damon fit together like two pieces from different puzzles. It doesn't matter how different it was, they still fit together.

HIGHLIGHTS

- i'm impressed with the pacing of the story. it wasn't too fast nor was it too slow. usually i get impatient with this kind of storytelling but it all worked for me. kudos to that! ^__^

- the characters were all well developed. i loved how amanda did not immediately jump into a relationship with damon. i would have but of course that's just me. i wanted to strangle her but hey I guess its part of the cham of the book.

- i love the addition of Trey. ^_^

- it was a HEA story. i love it when books end when they should end. i hate it when some extend it and ends up ruining the whole story for me.

- usually NA books have very mature scenes in it but on here, it wasn't really as graphic which was a good thing for me.

- oh last but not the least, she's a Filipino too!! I am so proud of her and makes me want to continue my writing too! she's an inspiration

FINAL WORDS

I am seriously thankful for the opportunity that was given to me by the author to read and review this book! I had a great time knowing the characters and their story. I will drop a spoiler though and say that this story is a HEA but don't we all love HEA? I know I do.

The good thing about this story is how it tells the story of two different people finding love. It doesn't matter what status you belong to in life, when love comes knocking, you would know it and it will hit you before you could even duck and hide.

I highly recommend it. I think my only concern with this book is the cover. I wasn't really a fan of it but all in all it was a good book! I loved reading every minute of it.

Finally, after a long reviewing hiatus (again...) I'm finally able to review something! YEHEY to me! LOL.



I loved Daemon since the moment I laid my eyes on him. Well literally I didn't lay my eyes on him physically but well you guys know what I mean. :p Anyways, I heard about the new adult spin-off of the Lux series and was instantly interested. Jennifer Armentrout hasn't disappointed me so far. I've love all her books even the contemporary ones. Obsession is by the far the most fierce, heart-pounding, suspenseful and over-the-top sexy amongst all her novels. And like all her other books, I am totally hooked.

Who would have thought that I'd like an Arum? I definitely did not expect that one.

What's this book about?

Serena has gotten herself tangled into some deep trouble when her friend overhears something that she was not suppose to hear. Although she doesn't believe a word her friend said, friend got killed because of it and she was the next target.

Enter the arrogant and undeniably hot Arum Hunter who was tasked to watch over Serena. Who does he work for? The DOD. Did that surprise me? Not really.

How was it different from the Lux series?

Well let me count the ways...

1. This is more for mature audience really. It has more of the steamy, sexy scenes not suitable for younger YA readers. It has more graphic scenes that are so vivid you'd feel yourself drooling... Well not really but you get what I mean right? :p

2. The Lux series focused more on the Luxens but here we see the side of the Arums which is not so bad if you ask me. Hunter is just... annoyingly perfect. First time you meet him you'll already know what type of guy he is. The good-looking-without-trying-type-of-guy-that-will-annoy-you-to-your-wits-because-of-his-arrogance-but-you'll-still-learn-to-love-anyways. That the type of guy he is. And let's face it, Hunter has a lot going on for him too so watch out Daemon.

3. We see a side of the Arums that have never really been shown in all the books in the Lux series (yet). I'm not sure if this cutie here will make an appearance in the next book as Daemon definitely made a cameo on this one.

4. The Dual POV is definitely something that I loved about this. I wish that the Lux series was told the same way as I only get glimpses on what Daemon is thinking through the short POVs that JLA is making.

Let's face it, JLA is a damn amazing writer. She knows how to develop her characters. She knows what the readers want. She knows when she has to keep the readers on their toes on what will happen next.

I loved this book. It was just amazing. Its a must read for those who love their steamy adult paranormal books. ^__^

To be honest, it didn't start okay for me.
On the first half of the book, my reaction is like:

Let me tell you THE GIST of the story.

Avery Morgansten has a past that she was trying to escape.
Experiencing a traumatic event at an early age changed her.
The people who she thought would be there for her, turned away from her.
And the two people who should be supporting her, her parents, lead her to a decision that she shouldn't have.

I don't expect anything less from J.Armentrout! All her previous work, I know and love.
There is no doubt about her skill in writing and getting all her readers wrap around her books and her characters so I was expecting this book would WOW me like the rest of them.
Oh another thing!!
All J.Armentrout's male lead are just so AMAZING so I was expecting CAM to be just as amazing as the others...

AND BOY, HE DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! :D



Let's talk about THE CHARACTERS

Avery



Okay first, we have red-head Avery.

Dear Avery,

I wasn't a fan of you at first because you were such an anti-social bitch person! Seriously. I hated listening reading about you whine about how you couldn't let people in because of your past. Everyone has a past sweetheart, and most of them much worse than yours.

Sometimes I wanna tell to you..



But after a while, I realized how hard it has been for you. And I actually want to literally kick myself for not understanding the trauma of what happened to you. It was horrifying and for me, that shouldn't have happened. You are a strong person who trusted your parents to do the right thing for you which they didn't by the way. I am so proud of what you did towards the ending.

By the way, if you ever push Cam away, I won't be so forgiving.
I'll definitely STEAL HIM AWAY!!

Dear Cam,



Why do you have to be so amazing? Why do you have to love Avery and not me??? Wweeeeee!!! Just thinking about you does things to me.

And also just so you know..



But seriously, you are just an amazing guy. You may have done something in the past that you were not proud of but that didn't stop you to be better. I wish all guys will be like you. I love how you never ever gave up on Avery even when she was being a total bitch to you. You were persistent and understanding and seriously SMOKING HOT. There is nothing to dislike!! And that tattoo!! OOOhh Boy! :D

If in anyway, Avery decides to push you away, rest assured that I am just waiting here. Haha. :D

AVERY + CAM = Sweet Sexy Love



I just love this couple.
Okay at first I was a bit scared for these two at first.
Obviously, at first, I wasn't exactly very happy with Avery with all her negative vibes and then Cam has this lively, outgoing feel to him.
I thought this was going to be a disaster waiting to happen but of course, it didn't.
It just gotten so good.
I love their chemistry. Their cute discussions. Cam persistently asking Avery to go out and she always declines.
It was cute and sweet.
And when things got really heavy, their chemistry got even better!
I love both of them!!
But of course I love Cam more because of the so many things he'd done for Avery. I wish I had my own Cam.
He reminds me of my Andrew Parrish (Edge of Never).

Final Thoughts

I seriously had my doubts I was going to like this book on the first part but hell J. Armentrout just surprises me EVERY FREAKIN TIME!!!
Wait for You however reminds me of another book by Laurie Halse Anderson.
The title of the book is Speak.
They also had a movie made for it staring Kirsten Stewart.
So the reason why I didn't give it a 5 is because of this.
It wasn't entirely unique to me.
Although Wait for You is a New Adult book and Speak is Young Adult, the main character for both experienced the same thing when they were young.
Although, Wait for You has a sexy Cam which was a plus whereas Speak did not dwell on the romance part of it.
But anyhow, I still enjoyed it!
I definitely enjoyed devouring CAM each page of this book.
I am looking out for more of J.Armentrout's New Adult book because for sure, they will not disappoint.

I seriously thought I wasn't going to enjoy this book.

I loved the story.
I loved the characters.
I loved how it wasn't really hurried but it wasn't really that fast either.
And finally, I loved the ending.
It was the perfect way to end a story like that althought it was a little common but it works.

Here is THE GIST

Quinn Roland was broken.
He's just been dumped by his girlfriend.
His father doesn't want to have anything to do with him and sent him to college.
He has everything but he wasn't really happy.

A game was what started it all. A game that had Quinn taking a girl chosen by his pyschotic half-brother Sebastian and he has to have her sleep with him no matter what the cost. It was a bet that Quinn has no intention of losing.

Emilie Swanson had no clue what was in store for her the day she followed Quinn Roland up that room.
She caught him off guard and she caught a glimpse of him that he doesn't allow anyone to see.

Emelie saw through Quinn's facade but was Quinn ready to show all his colors to Emelie.
Was Quinn ready to give up his ways and open up to Emelie?
Is Emelie right about Quinn? Was she right that there was something more to him than the guy who sleeps with a different girl every night?

FIRST IMPRESSION

The first thing that got me was the cover. The cover is just beautiful. I love it. It's simple and it totally shows you what the book is about.

I wasn't really thrilled with the rating though. I think it was a 3.71 something and I usually read books which have high ones. And honestly, after I finishing the book, i think it SHOULD have a higher rating. This is one of those books that will unfolds slowly but beautifully.

Here are the CHARACTERS

QUINN



So I had a hard time loving Quinn. He was the type of guy you'd like to steer away from but him being so perfect makes it very hard to do. He was the type who will shower you with sweet words, smile at you with that heartbreakingly beautiful smile, caress your body the way it should be, make you feel like a princess and then one day... POOOOFFF! You're history.



Seriously hated this guy. And this is a first for me which is really good!! I mean it wasn't every day that you read about a male character who doesn't swoon you immediately on the first few pages of the book. I didn't like what he did with the other girls. It was sickening. If I knew a guy like that I'll kick him right down there repeatedly so he won't be able to use it with other girls and make them cry after. Quinn was a seriously broken person and I felt for him as the story goes. I'm sure all of you will feel it too.

EMILIE



So Emilie is a half-Peruvian. I'm not sure why Sebastian called her Mexican but yeah a sexy Peruvian girl who knows what she wants. She was the exact opposite of Quinn. She knows what she wants and she goes and gets it even if it means losing her trust fund and all that. *YOU GO GIRL!* Nope. She's not the typical not-so-rich-girl-who-falls-for-the-rich-guy type. She's as previledged as Quinn but only a much stronger and feminine version. I thought at first Quinn was a coward. He was actually until near the end of the book but Emilie was not like that. She was strong-willed and she stands up for what she believes in. I also like that she paints. I do think she ate her words though because she said she wouldn't fall for him like the other girls but ended up falling for him big time but I don't really blame her. :p I think her motto when it comes to Quinn is:



Who could blame her? :p

SEBASTIAN

Just a short one for Seb.



EMILIE + QUINN = TOTALLY LOVE THEM



Okay at first I thought their story was a little clicheish. There were already a lot of stories out there where broken bad-boy sleeps around with girls and then meets nice girl and then falls in love with each other and then happily ever after. I thought it was going to be like that at first but it wasn't. There was a lot more to it and I loved it.



I just really love them together. There were seriously cute scenes here and there but when it was the steamy ones, "OH BABY" I want some of those. I really like how Emilie was so confident with herself. Quinn loved that about her and I kind of see why he liked it. She wasn't shy about getting naked and having sex, she wanted it and she wasn't afraid to admit it or show that she's okay with it.

And that elevator scene, *PHEW!* TOO HOT! And they didn't even have sex yet!!!

He didn’t, and apparently no one had lied about Quinn’s proficiency with women. Expert fingers shot waves of pleasure that weakened my legs, shuddered through my limbs until Quinn and the elevator wall were holding me up.

As the doors dinged he looked over and winked at me. “Plus, I’m not at my best standing up. I’d hate to ruin my reputation now.”


BUMMER HUH? :p



FINAL THOUGHTS

Like I said earlier, I didn't expect to like this book. But I did. I LIKED IT A LOT. And I think it should have a higher rating than what it currently has.

I loved how the story just didn't unfold immediately. It was like a step-by-step on how the characters developed and learned from their actions. The author takes us on the same ride as the characters were on. We see their imperfections, their mistakes, their choices and we also watch what the results of their decisions were. It was just beautiful.



It close to perfect for me. I loved the heart of the story. The ending was just how I wanted it to be. A happily-ever-after but done in the correct way. The type of characters were a little common but the story itself was different. I'm adding this to my favorites and will be looking to more of this series and Ms. Payne's books!

Fallen Too Far is one of those books you'll never be able to forget easily and would leave you hanging over the edge that you can't help but beg for the next one.

Blaire Wynn went through a lot in life. Her dad walked out on them. Her mom got sick and had no one but her. Her ex-bf Cain was a douche. She never was able to enjoy what was supposed to be her teenage life because she was too busy taking care of her mom and herself.

After her mom passed away, she knew she needed help until she could could find a job and save up so she could start her own life. She asked her father for help. She drove from Alabama to Florida on her old truck. And upon arriving there, instead of finding her father, he was greeted by the not-so willing to greet her her hotter-than-hell stepbrother, Rush Finlay. Turns out her good-for-nothing father is out on a trip with his new wife. What a decent guy he is huh?

Rush was the type of guy you won't be able to resist. One look at you with that silvery eyes and that smile and you'll be hooked. He may be sleeping with a different girl every night but there was more to this guy than meets the eye. Also, he was harboring a secret that would change Blaire's life forever.

FIRST IMPRESSION

I wasn't really expecting to love this. I was actually just looking for a very light and fun love story how this book ended was totally not what I was expecting. That's a good thing actually. Some books nowadays is very predictable and I end up just not finishing them because of it but this one?? I devoured it until the last page.

CHARACTERS

Let's start with Blaire. I think she kind of looks somewhat like this girl below. I'm not sure who she is or if she's an actress but I kind have her in my mind as Blaire.



I love Blaire. She's my type of female lead character. She was strong although she's a little naive at times. I'm just so proud of her for being there for her mother and not depending on her good-for-nothing father. She didn't have a lot and she could work with that. She wasn't your typical female lead. Although she was a damsel and is distressed but she doesn't need any crap from Prince Charming.She just has this BIG heart for everyone even for Rush who at some point I thought didn't deserve it.

So now, let's talk about the sexy man-whore Rush.



So I'm not such a big fan of Rush on the early part of this book. It wasn't until near towards the end that I really felt for him. Why wasn't I a fan of him? Well because he the type of guy I would hate to meet. He was the type who sleeps with a different girl every night without a care and he was also the type who could ger away with it. Why? Because he was extremely gorgeous and sexy. Not to mention he is the son of a rock icon which actually adds up to his appeal. And not only that, he was filthy rich. Yep. You got it. He got everything but what he also has a secret that I wish he hadn't kept. You'll get attached to him as the story go along though because he was more than what he does show people.

So there are a couple of characters here that I liked too. One example was Grant. I really really liked Grant and I wish he'd have a story of his own. I actually thought he was going to be the third-wheel in this story but I'm also glad he wasn't. He deserve a better story than this. Haha. This is already too crazy. Also there's Woods, who I thought was also one of those typical rich boys who like to fool around with girls just like Rush but he wasn't. I was wrong about him and I absolutely loved him.

There were some that I liked but there were some i detested so bad I wanna murder them in their sleep if possible. There's NAN. The wicked sister of Rush. I'm not going to give out spoilers about her. All you guys need to know about her is that she is one hell-of-a-BITCH. And also there's Blaire's dad. I hate him from start to finish. He have no balls seriously!!!

BLAIRE + RUSH = SEXY FORBIDDEN LOVE THAT WAS MEANT TO BE





These two lovebirds definitely have chemistry. It is totally undeniable. I just think that Rush's bad boy image is a little too over-used already in the YA/NA books. I'm actually reading another book that has the exact same guy. Rich guy who has family issues and is being a rebel about it. But for Rush's case he was being an ass to Blaire for a reason. What that reason is well you'll have to read it to know. :p

Anyhow, I just love the chemistry between them especially in that car scene. Oh SWEET HEAVENS! I wish that was meeee!!!



FINAL WORDS

This book just really caught me off-guard and I loved it. I loved how stuff started but I don't freakin' like the ending.



That was a very cruel way to end a book even if there is a sequel. Let me correct myself, especially if there is a SEQUEL. People will go crazy to get the other book after reading something like that on the ending.



And honestly, I was a little disappointed with Rush. He totally shouldn't have kept it from Blaire. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE IT. I mean I wouldn't wanna change it but if it happened in real life, i wish the person involved wouldn't keep something like that a secret. The other person deserves to know the truth. I feel very sorry for Blaire towards the end. She didn't deserve any of that.



All in all, I really loved it. The development of the story was a little too slow for me but it kind of worked as well. I loved the easy vibe at first but turns out there were secrets and lies that have yet to be revealed. It was unexpected and I love that.

My rating for this would be: 5 stars definitely along with 4 of these annoyingly cute anime girls!

UNRAVEL ME, SHATTERED ME! Seriously!
All my thoughts just went completely fried or toasted!!!
I wasn't expecting the complete turn of events!
It gets even better and better.
The first one got me at the edge of my seat, the second one had me screaming for me.. I wonder what the hell the third book will do to me? o.o
Dang it Ms. Mafi! I nearly went crazy on this one.

So how am I going to start reviewing this?
Geez. It's been weeks after I've done reading this but I still got a hangover the stuff that has happened.
It was mindblowing and totally unexpected.
It just gave me all sorts of things to think about.
It made me wonder what will happen next or what other stuff is there that people are hiding or if there is or I'm just being totally paranoid.

Okay so back to the review. Juliette was still at the underground facility along with the rest of the gifted peeps. Juliette was still learning to control her powers while behind her Adam was undergoing some tests on why he has some sort of protection against Juliette's deadly touch. So when Juliette found out, she freaked! That was very hard to take seriously. It was just too painful to watch them. I didn't like how their relationship turns out here but there was a twist in the story that I never knew was going to be there. I had no freakin' clue it there was going to be a love triangle here.

At first I was like,



But then Chapter 62, just blew me away!!!



It left me licking my lips and begging for more But Ms. Mafi here was being an Evil Author and cut it damn short!!! I so want more... PLEEEEAAASSEEE I WANT MORE!



I know you guys want to know who the third party is. Haha. I'm sure if you have been reading all the reviews here you would have known by now. But I'll tell you anyways.. W.A.R.N.E.R. That's the character that you should be looking out for in this book. Seriously, he's a book character but he already got me thinking twice about whether Adam was really the right choice for Juliette. I dunno, Adam seemed a little too soft for me in this book. And Juliette is already soft. I'm sorry. I'm not a big fan of Juliette in this book. She became such a weak character for me here but glad to know she got her spark back towards the end.

W.A.R.N.E.R



This guy was such a big surprise!! I knew there was a reason why there was that novella Destroy Me. There was!! Unless, Ms. Mafi will be making a novella for Adam too now it is really going to make me wonder who will end up with Juliette. I don't care if he's a crazy and obsessive. I still think he and Juliette belongs together. It was so damn obvious on this book.

But what about Adam you say? Hmmm.. That is a tough question. Geezz. I like Adam but like I said earlier. He was too weak for me in this book. He became a little boring for me compared to how strong Warner's character became in this book.

I'm completely torn. I liked Adam and Juliette on the first book but now I'm not so sure. Now I am completely frustrated that I have to wait a year before I'll be able to know who Juliette chooses or ends up with!!! Isn't that freakin' frustrating????



Why do you enjoy torturing your readers Ms. Mafi!! Come on! Make it come earlier. Haha. Maybe this April or May?? Come on and be merciful to your avid readers who can't wait to get their hands on this one of a kind book.

I'll have to say that Ms. Mafi is one of the most creative writers ever. I don't think I've ever read another book that had the same feel as Shatter Me. It's on a totally different level and its that awesome.



If I'm going to talk some more I would be blabbering all about Warner and I wouldn't want you guys knowing about him more without reading it. So for those who haven't read it yet, please do read it. It's an amazing book with a very twisted twist that will blow your head up!!

I'm going to end with what I think is the best line I've heard so far in this series. For those who haven't read this second book yet, I'll let you guys guess who said these three words.

"You destroy me."

"She looks at me.
She searches me with those odd, blue-green eyes and I feel guilty so suddenly, without understanding why. But there is something about the way she looks at me that always makes me feel insignificant, as if she's the only one who realized I'm entirely hollow inside. She's found the cracks in this cast I'm forced to wear everyday, and it petrifies me.
That this girl would know exactly how to shatter me.

Just curious, so the previous title, Shatter Me, was the author talking about Warner?
Hmmm.. Interesting!

Seriously, at first I thought it was just a passing affection but after reading Destroy Me, I realized you were more than just the twisted, psychotic, obsessivve leader of the Sector 45. You are more than what you want others to see. You are more than what your father wants you to be.

I like Adam. I seriously do but after reading this one...



TEAM WARNER!

Honestly, why would the author put a novel for the villian and not the supposed male character, Adam? I don't really want to say anything about my theory about it because I might be wrong but seriously? Why right? I think there is more to Warner which is why the author would want us to know more than just his creepy-psycho leader that he was.

I liked hearing about Warner's thoughts. Actually, I like his voice more than I liked Juliette's. Nooo I'm not being biased, so shut it! Haha. But seriously, this novella shed a new light for Warner for me. On the first book, I already know he was not as bad as he make himself look like. He has his crazy moments but if you look beyond the surface you'll see that there was more to him that meets the eye.



Who knew, OCD villians could be so swoon-worthy?

According to one of Tahereh Mafi's tweet, if this book becomes a movie, this guy is the perfect Warner (I totally agree! This guy is the perfect Warner)



You Ms. Mafi have been a very bad girl



I absolutely enjoyed reading this. Exceeded my expectation for a novella. I wish she just made it into a while book because I can't seem to get enough of Warner.

Thank you Ms. Mafi for being giving us a glimpse on Warner's twisted mind. I kind of like it!
